There are many people, but that doesn't matter in this context. Calling a drug addict who betrays his friends, lives in a basement, and has abscesses all over his body "despicable" and generally quite pathetic is perfectly reasonable, right? And what if you find someone even more miserable, completely strung out, incontinent, and a criminal with a recent past – will the first one suddenly stop being pathetic?
If you point to a world-renowned doctor and say that he is successful and has achieved a lot, and then draw attention to the owner of a large corporation with billions in turnover, will the doctor become less successful?
No and no.
