You misunderstood me (regarding principles). Maybe that specific word isn't quite right, but I think the meaning is clear. And explain why you call it idiocy.
Perhaps I don't deny that everything could have happened exactly as you say, but I still think that it was imposed. You just don't realize it, and most likely will never realize it. But again, I'm not claiming that this is the absolute truth.
Regarding patriotism and fanaticism - I think it's impossible to reach a consensus here. Because I believe that absolute fanaticism is when you are simply crazy about something, you know everything about it, etc. (I'll explain it better with an example: let's say a fan of a band knows the complete biography of all the members of the band, only listens to it, goes to ALL their concerts by any means, squeezing out the last money, is ready to give away an apartment in exchange for a beer can that was run over by the band's limousine, etc.).
IMHO patriotism is a kind of fanaticism in which you "fan out" over the country in which you are a patriot, you also know its history by heart, all the rulers, sub-rulers, etc., and are ready to wallow in mud every day for 23 hours for it, etc.
And I don't know a lot of things by heart, I just know where my heart lies, for what cause, for what deed... And I don't want to "have" everyone who I like or just the one who was given to me!:D
Be smart patriots!:D
