What about such forgotten concepts as "honor," "conscience," "nobility," and "self-sacrifice"? People perform heroic deeds either for glory or because they are simply idiots, according to you.
And what's the point of a world without people? What would you do there – get high on drugs?
Can't find something to do if there are no people around? Poor thing. But homeless people somehow manage. Hermits do, or just people tired of the city who move to a house in the woods. Even primitive animals with underdeveloped brains live perfectly well without people. And even without other animals of the same species, which can be considered a miracle of nature.
Of course, it's much more pleasant to die. It's a convenient solution when you want to relieve yourself, but there's no one around. Is that it?
