That's not quite right. There's no way to "somehow" get out of it. At the very least, a morale drop on a full stack always makes things difficult. Crusaders can be taken, but I would prefer to save them instead of getting an extra 4% morale. What's your success rate, by the way? For example, out of 5 attempts.
