From which side do you start eating a croissant?

How do you tell the sides apart?)
I rely on intuition, invoke the Great Random, mix it all together, and then I find that the roguelike has been eaten (and I don't know who ate it, but they're definitely sneaky, sprinkling crumbs in my mouth).
