I knew that Astral increases with healing, but I didn't actively try to boost it.

It really does work well.

And if you leave the character like that, leave the computer on, and just go to sleep, I think the Astral will actually increase overnight. The main thing is to make sure Ignez doesn't get killed – you'll need to calculate and test that.
