If you're writing a book, it's much easier to come up with something in fantasy than to describe reality. Everything there follows one principle: "It is, and it cannot be otherwise." Take dragons, for example, which, with their flimsy wings, lift such a massive body and fly like the latest fighters. In sci-fi, you can spend time describing a normal spaceship takeoff.
