I remember in that same Might and Magic game, Vic was planning to remove the road from the tavern village to the swamp castle.

In the new version, I simply placed stronger guards on it. Let the road live; come visit on the 2nd week, but it's too difficult on the 1st week, so it's better to travel by sea.
