Why not? We used to give beetles boats in the form of lids and let them sail, although they work extremely poorly as a team, just like when raiding ant nests, which is why they always die. But ants can kill quite well with their mandibles, they can even bite off the beetles' heads and legs, not to mention other body parts.
P.S. And once, we walled up a beetle in clay, like in a tomb... well, we wanted to, and I brought the clay from the river, but while catching the beetle for this purpose, I broke my finger, and we had to postpone it for a couple of months, but by that time the clay had already deteriorated, and the tomb didn't turn out very well.
