[ANOTHER FLAME WAR] Are dragons overpowered or not?

I remember catching beetles as a kid and not being afraid of them at all. Once, we even caught spiders (ordinary ones that run around on the streets and houses) and held them in our hands as a dare.
Of course, the spiders weren't always alive, but still.
