What's so sacred about a stupid, cold-blooded reptile that spends days and nights in a dormant state, lying on a pile of gold? And explodes at the first sign of digestive problems?
And elves are a wonderful people, a kind of ideal that everyone should strive for.

Oh, please, don't start listing stereotypes. We all know that the image of a dragon has been reinterpreted thousands and millions of times. Now you can count such "stupid, cold-blooded reptiles" on the fingers of one hand.
I have nothing against elves, on the contrary, I quite like this race, but there is no such thing as an ideal in principle. Maybe I just don't want to be a pompous blonde archer. For example, dragons suit my character better. Moreover, "everyone" is a strong word.
