Still, I think it would be right for the organizers of the qualifiers to at least decide on the template and version for the final. And without "by mutual agreement." Otherwise, people will qualify on SoD and SM, and then have to play on TE and 8mm6.
Peter, to be honest, the organizers have practically resolved the version issue: TE-lite. Essentially, it's neither one nor the other — neither SoD nor TE. But there's no other way to hold a joint tournament; everyone has to make some concessions.
The reason all qualifiers need to be completed by January is precisely so that the rules can be discussed, determined by a simple majority vote.
For each disputed point — a vote by the finalists.
Perhaps some will not be satisfied with the final arrangement and will drop out of the game.
But our Heroes world is split by a disparity in rules and versions; there's no other way.
And from January to May — 4 months for a player to prepare for the final rules. Possibly — there will be 3-5 templates, and tweaking templates, discarding obviously unfavorable ones.
Regarding Moscow. It would be very good if the organizer posted the rules (template, version...???) — the regulations (best of 1 or 2 wins...???) — deadlines (???) and so on for everyone to see. And somehow separated what has already been decided from what is being discussed.
I think they'll post it soon. There's just a chance to attract both old stars of Ande and Joker's caliber, the conditional "middle generation of tops" — Stinger and Marcon's generation, and new top players — a conditional Pete's generation.
A lot of work is being done in Moscow; there's a chance this will turn out to be the best qualifier of all.
A big request — don't give up; it's better to help the organizers however you can.
Including with suggestions; I've already seen that you have a good head for organizational planning.
I don't like the 8mm6 template; playing on it doesn't bring me joy, so if this is already decided, I'm withdrawing my application. Besides, the phantom chances of HeroesWorld and HeroesPortal players making it to the final when playing on 8mm6 rapidly approach zero.
Just to discuss, say MM6, SM, and a third template, neutral (maybe a fix-map; World, Portal, Bay, and Chaos players would be in roughly equal positions).
In general, it's better to discuss everything, including in ICQ.
