Still, I think it would be right for the organizers of the qualifying rounds to at least decide on a template and version for the final. And without any "by agreement." Otherwise, people will qualify for SoD and CM, and then they'll have to play on TE and 8mm6.
Regarding Moscow: It would be very good if the organizer posted the rules (template, version...???) - the regulations (best of 1 or 2 games???...) - the deadlines (???) and so on for everyone to see. And somehow separate what has already been decided from what is being discussed. Otherwise, you sign up, but you don't know where to play, you don't know what to play... Maybe we'll have to play poker around the clock for a week? Then we should decide on the prize money right away.
Here's how Eric does it in Michurinsk - short and clear:
Nagan-4
The tournament will be held on version SoD 3.2, according to the rules of the HeroesWorld resource, using the 2SM4d(3) team template. Tournament dates: September 25-27, 2009 (Friday-Sunday). Regulations: 5 rounds of the Swiss system, from 12 to 20 participants. Location: Michurinsk, computer club "Legion".
I don't like the 8mm6 template; playing on it doesn't bring me any joy, so if this has already been decided, I'm withdrawing my application. And the slim chances of HW and HP players making it to the final when playing on 8mm6 quickly drop to zero.
