Confirmed, it happened, they rushed me — took me a long time to ramp up.
At first, it was tight with gold and resources — as usual underground, efreet into fort, I buy them and use them along with demons to take an external dwelling of pits on 117, one efreet survived, and the ballista. Secondary skill dungeon underground on 113, there's an unbreachable Griffin Conservatory behind the elves. Another one at home far away, with a dwarf dwelling nearby.
On the second turn, I first run to the snow (on the first turn I broke through the pegasi below — but was afraid of the ice elementals above), secondary, and only then to the home Griffin Conservatory — for 3-4 angels, I level Earth Magic at two dwarf dwellings.
There's also a passage upward, behind the monks — never broken through.
On 125, Valka came from there and gold is spent on a second Mage Guild and breaking through. I sit in the fort, forgetting that I don't even have Citadel and there isn't enough mana for a Bolt spell. Well, I get shot down.
