Something similar happened in school. One group in our class (I was in a different one) decided to skip English class en masse, but one, the most conscientious and honest one, stayed. The poor guy waited for the teacher for about 15-20 minutes, as he told it, and then she conducted a lesson for him alone, as usual. Well, more precisely, the remainder of the lesson. A couple of months later, however, he started to clash with her and the whole group started skipping her English lessons.
O God of Earth and Altar, Bow down and hear our cry, Our earthly rulers falter, Our people drift and die, The walls of gold entomb us, The swords of scorn divide, Take not thy thunder from us, Take away our pride.
