The second murder of Ara. The entire newspaper was literally saturated with evidence against him. "Darkness, an alliance of dark forces..." - the meaning lies in the antithesis. In general, alliance = union, and the bright highlighting of darkness is done precisely so that the opposite concept is taken into account.

Antithesis, opposition... I agree, you wouldn't immediately think of Ara, and the same is true here...
I'm not putting wine and cigarettes in the same category... I'm just drawing a parallel in terms of harmful habits... cigarettes-wine
and besides, what's so "obviously fabricated" about the evidence against me: wine and pies AT THE SAME TIME (the key word), 2 murders and 2 pieces of evidence for 2 murders indirectly, or rather directly, point to me?

But I see the following "psychological moment": someone is desperately trying to execute another, to deflect suspicion by calling the evidence "barbarian"? Mmmm?? :) ;)
