Yeah, that happened. I confirm.
We started the game without rests, and Kairi came without elves. He scouted 2 Kentaur nests (which turned out to be quite far away), an elf nest, 2 resource nodes, and decided to go for it. He started slowly, but made a mistake in direction and, while trying to reach the neighboring grassy resource node, he lost a lot of troops to Pegasus units and wouldn't have been able to break through the ranged units. He ran in another direction and managed to reach the central swamp resource node (small) through 20 spawns of evil creatures, captured the secondary swamp resource node, and a Gnoll nest. And, to his misfortune, he wanted to get the artifact that gives +3 to luck/morale... well, while trying to reach it, he got completely crushed by a horde of monks with a large stack. As they say: I need more pills for greed! :D
