"Might vs. Magic"

So, does “everyone plays against everyone” mean that I still have games left to play with the remaining players on the list? I thought each player would only have one game. And if there are many players, then we should use a Swiss-system tournament. Did I misunderstand? We have 16 players, so maybe we should still use a Swiss-system tournament?
