No, in the latest versions, it's no longer disguised as anything; it's just Opera itself. But in general, it used to be done because, when Opera wasn't yet popular, all websites were designed and tested for Internet Explorer and Firefox. And Opera adhered to all global web standards. As a result, Opera displayed many sites incorrectly because they were designed not according to standards, but for Internet Explorer. That's why the function was introduced in Opera - to identify itself as a donkey so that websites would display correctly. But the function still remains - it can also identify itself as Firefox, if I'm not mistaken, but by default, it's still set to Opera in the latest versions.

Opera has one unpleasant feature:
when you download something, it can suddenly "override" the file extension to its own; and a song becomes a page, for example. It's most annoying when this happens when downloading an archive.

Hmm, I've never noticed that. However, if I understand correctly what you're talking about, it's not Opera's fault at all. Some files are simply uploaded incorrectly, meaning there's a problem on the server side, and the problem will occur in any browser. Just use the download launch option - right-click on the link and select "save object as" - then it will almost always process the file correctly
