DISCUSSIONS on “Rules for online games in HoMM3 and formulas for calculating player rating.”
If you can't do it, then the opportunity is gone. I think that's logical.
You seem to have misunderstood. If I use a chain, and it turns out that there was a chain in the Pandora's boxes, then everything is fine, and I played according to the rules. But if there was no chain there, and in the end I win, then I will have to admit that the rules were violated. But at the moment of the attack, none of the players can know this, so I think the rules need to be edited in some way to avoid this, both in the case of the described "shifted" guard, and in the case of using specific magic, so that the game does not come down to an empty draw: "there was magic/there wasn't, the passage was broken/it wasn't, loss for violation/everything is within the rules." Now I have to refrain from such actions (or admit a loss), and as bankers say, there may be a "missed opportunity." I don't think this is good.
