Some underestimate golems, and that's a mistake, a big one.
I believe that, along with rakshasas, they are the foundation of a mage's army.
No one prevents you from equipping golems with artifacts that increase speed, initiative, and armor penetration (it looks good, considering their infinite retaliation).
No one would dare argue that Hafiz is stronger on a short map.
But on a long map, you can and should completely ignore Hafiz's ballista. It's a pointless skill in a decisive battle.
By the way, I would also take gremlins, but not to neutralize the ballista, but because of their attack of 5, which is about the same as that of the hunters (gremlins shoot much better than assassins, and this is considering that their growth is not small).
