System requirements: 1.2 GHz, 512 MB RAM, 128 MB video memory.
The strategic map incorporates the best elements of the genre: mountain ranges smoothly transition into deserts, rivers flow, and lakes... lakes simply exist :).
Wisdom and humor constantly intertwine, imbuing the game with an unusual charm: each artifact, in addition to its history, carries within it something much greater – a grain of truth and wisdom, a valuable piece of advice, the application of which can be found in real life.
Tactical battles are turn-based. The hero himself participates in the battle (:( ). Troops are divided into main forces and support. The main forces include various swordsmen, cavalry, pikemen, etc. Support consists of blacksmiths, priests, and mages.
For participating in battles, troops are rewarded with experience, which increases their characteristics: for example, the spells of mages will last for several rounds, and warriors will inflict not one, but several blows.
Innovations have also affected the economy: our hero acts as a feudal lord, with the power to establish cities and castles. The settlement he builds will develop and gain levels. To advance to a new level, you need to build a special building (for example, a Mage's House for a mage) and a certain number of inhabitants. You can also recruit troops for the army from the settlement.
Cities develop according to three schemes: magical, scientific, and manufacturing. A hero hired in a magical city can only establish a magical settlement. Each class of cities corresponds to special buildings.
Troop training takes place not in the city, but in the castle adjacent to it. For example, if you build a "hunter's lodge," the castle will have the ability to hire archers, etc.
There are also elements similar to a technology tree. For example, you can equip seasoned warriors with upgraded swords.
The hero himself can be equipped with artifacts. There are also slots for so-called "specializations." The hero develops in three directions: warrior, mage, and scientist.
And now, a fly in the ointment:
The graphics are at the level of 2002 :( There is almost no plot :( There is no music on the global map :( But the number of bugs is decreasing. There are many patches on the website www.malgrimia.kh.ua.
And now, the main thing: the developers have announced a sequel, "Heroes of Malgrimia: The Necromancer Invasion," where they promise to completely fix everything and create a perfect game.
CONCLUSION: THE PROJECT DESERVES ATTENTION!
