You can cancel the black corner by going to the edge of the beach; a passage will appear there. But the funniest thing is, after researching "summon ship," no ship was summoned; the spell was inactive!!!!!!! I had to rush after my own ship, and that takes a lot of time, plus a bunch of dragons and other monsters; it's just sad:(
