Stories from veterans (let the forum recognize its heroes).

In Heroes 3, I was playing as Necropolis with Sandro. I carelessly wandered too far from the city (about 10 turns). There was no teleportation spell to return to the city. During the journey, I lost half of my army. I had left: ~ 1200 skeletons ~ 500 zombies ~ no ghosts ~ 120 vampires ~ 80 liches ~ 40 Death Knights ~ 25 Ghost Dragons Sandro was an excellent mage. He had recently conquered a dungeon and doubled his mana points. All his stats were above 25. And then, Barbarians attacked me. With an army twice the size of mine, and led by a formidable hero. At first, I was mowing them down with Berserkers, using Death Knights to kill their monsters, and Liches to shoot down Orcs (I really needed archers in that battle). Their Cyclops and Goblins fell after the Vampires and Chain Lightning attacks. Then I had to resurrect the Death Knights. All my level 1-3 units were killed. Theirs too. A little later, the Death Knights were completely defeated. In my army, I had left: ~80 vampires ~20 liches They had about 15 monsters (or other behemoths) and about 40 Thunderbirds. When I had only a handful of vampires left, I started summoning Air Elementals (about 90 of them). My warriors were already gone, only elementals remained. When their remaining forces were defeated, it was a draw!!! I didn't think to resurrect even one skeleton! The battle lasted about half an hour, and the difficulty level was maximum.
