Here’s another thought I had. Championship matches shouldn’t be automatically forfeited. A sufficient reason for this could be, for example, an admission of guilt and sincere repentance from the penalized player. Or, if they don’t feel guilty, perhaps they were unfairly accused (and that’s possible; I’m not an expert, but I know that in the 20th century, a huge number of unjust death sentences were handed down) – in that case, let them defend themselves as best they can, and there shouldn’t be a ban for that (except in cases of 100% proven cheating). Something like that, in my opinion.
