Which hero is the best at level 1-1-1?

because elves on a direct attack path have low morale – they immediately lose, and get crushed by a stack of elves.

It's not really a GG for the elves, because they aren't a top-tier faction; they can kill a maximum of 20 (and realistically, a maximum of 12-15) extra orcs. However, morale is a real problem for the orcs if they first break through a line of centaurs and then attack the unprotected elves.
P.S. Here's a save file. Elves kill 12 orcs on a direct attack path – BUT if morale isn't a factor, the elves, with their ability to retreat, easily win.
