Do you often watch movies with the original audio? They pronounce that word exactly as I said, so don't argue.

My dear friend, let's keep it civil. These are nuances of the language that can vary even in different regions. Although I've always pronounced it something like "dɪə" (sort of like "dee-uh," the "r" in Russian isn't pronounced in English), and I'll be offended if you say I'm illiterate and don't know English.

Don't you think that using a story as "proof" in response to the Bible is not very smart... although you are, of course, an MD... that's the only explanation...

I looked it up in a synonym dictionary: devil = demon.
