New Era Of Heroes
I. Introduction.
To sum up my work in the field of Heroes Of Might And Magic III modding, I'd like to think the effort wasn't in vain. This build is a collection of most of my works in a portable package, with help and comment files. It also includes what we've come to know as Era. III. Installation and configuration
-) Generating the working executable.
Go to the "Era Software\Exebuilder" folder. It contains three batch files for generating executables for Phoenix, Era (your project, for example), and SoD (a fix for the 100% CPU usage bug). More experienced users can go down into the LIB directory and review the sources of the available binary patches, and then tweak the batch files to their liking.

-) Modifying the Era sources and compiling the project.
Go to the "Era Source\BIN.W32" folder. Launch VP.EXE. Then, via the IDE menu, open the file "SRC\Angel.PAS", or another Era project file from the same "SRC" folder. However, for the final compile you must open Angel.dll specifically. Then, in the menu, Compile -> Compile. The output library Angel.dll can then be found in "Era Source\OUT.W32".

IV. License.
Authorship remains with the author. Otherwise you may do whatever you want, however you want. Distribute your own builds and modified variants. Moral and ethical questions are left to the conscience of the users.

  • Added Born's patch for playing in windowed mode with 32-bit color depth
