No matter how you look at it, Faust, although a positive character in some sense, WAS the devil's apprentice, and as far as I remember from literature class, he sold his soul to him! Also, oasis-pond go well together. And if not oasis-pond, then the Berber people, who live in deserts and therefore have a connection to oases (something of this, apparently, was definitely meant). Let's add Lizard's strange excuses and attempts to provide completely absurd evidence about the governor of the Perm region, Berber:D, etc. Everything falls into place, IMHO.
