There is a direct formula for the number of guards based on the significance of the object on the respawn. That is, if the respawn is rich, the guards there are stronger.
Number of monsters = (object value / monster value)*k
k - random dispersion coefficient.
Or am I confusing something? Maybe k isn't that random after all? :smile11:

Cheated a little :), but respect... You could have brought dogs too..
and still, the puzzle is probably like a chess one - make something good out of what you have. I managed to escape from nagas either without a ballista, or almost without gogs - which is critical later...
And a question for Scorp - did you actually attack this group in real play or leave it as a puzzle? :)
