Heroic stories.

A few years ago, Gorbik and I met with the director of a computer club – a big fan of Heroes. The club is located near the Kharkiv metro station. Later, a tournament was held there. In principle, I can go and see how the club is doing now.
If you, Sam, want to organize something, create a thread, announce a call for players, and let's see how many there are. Maybe someone will come from nearby cities.

I think that all you need in Kyiv is a good organizer, and the club life will start. There have always been good players; off the top of my head, I can remember Craig Heca from Portal, Like Spirit from Bay, and of course, our Invisibl, and the two of you – that's already 5 people.
In reality, there should be many more players in a multi-million city.

Perhaps it's worth talking to Gorbik; he organized a tournament back then, and many people gathered. He might still have addresses and phone numbers.

Regarding players from other cities. Ukraine is currently experiencing a real Heroes boom, and the players – almost none of them played in the old club tournaments; they would probably be interested. To attract them, you need clearly defined rules for the championship, the tournament schedule, and accommodation arrangements for guests, for example:
1. The tournament will be held from Friday to Sunday, three days, 4 (or 5 rounds of Swiss-system), until the end.
2. Hotel (name), accommodation cost (per night), special conditions (after midnight, you won't be able to get in – get the mobile number of the on-duty staff in advance).
3. We play according to the rules (the tournament rules are stated).
4. The main thing is not to write: "...we'll somehow organize it together...", but for someone to specifically say that, for example, I am a judge, I take responsibility for running the tournament, please treat me well.
5. Inform potential guests that the core of the tournament is already made up of local players, 5-8 people, and the tournament will still take place, guaranteed; guests will simply add to the local fun. This will make those who want to come feel more at ease because they won't be afraid of traveling for nothing.
And write that poker, Seka, and Literball are available in free time from Heroes, so as not to distract from the main thing.

After that, post on forums about the invitation and contact players from nearby cities via instant messaging. Even if you can't attract anyone, you can still make a local tournament great, even if it's just with 8-10 players.

In general, I've organized many such championships; there's nothing complicated about it. People come to play (and travel from other cities) with pleasure.
