I understand that you prefer simplicity. I can't compare the editors of Heroes 3 and 4 because I haven't played or used the editor for the third game. I started with the fourth game, and the first time I opened it, it seemed difficult to create a map. But as time went on, I managed to do it.

As someone who has created maps for both the third and fourth games, I can say that the editors are not comparable in terms of interface and ease of use (which is understandable, as the games are different). In the third game, everything is simple, while in the fourth game, I struggled a bit, but it doesn't seem to be overly complicated. I haven't played the other games much, but I think the fifth game has a lot of features.
