Round 8
numOne (blue, Castle, Valessa, Pyre) def Javded (blue, Tower, Daremif, Alamar), balance, 132
Bows not built, fast roads and Pyre in the tavern - immediately turned her into a "mommy". On the second day I take my native village, a crypt, revealed the Griffin Conservatory. Everything went smoothly after that; by the end of the week I took 3 external dwellings of monks, an external dwelling of pikemen, a swamp village via teleport. At home I built Cavalry in the Citadel, in secondary towns +1000. Pyre already has Expert Offense and got Armor.
On day 121 I take a mini Gnoll Hut. On day 122 the Conservatory is level two, cloak 2/2, good tempo, lots of troops (including 19 Fanatics). I break through to the center, take a Naga Bank, 2 Imp Cottages, scout with Orb of Sight, capture a Dungeon village, see a weekly growth from the blue side - up to 19 Arch Devils. Pyre is given Tactics, I visit the Arena, claim a Sword 2/2, a mini Conservatory, 5 castles painted. Stats 11 9 8 6, planning on the third week to break the weekly growth and go visiting.
But on day 131 Roman himself breaks the Arch Devils (surprisingly with Alamar, who at the time was sitting in the tavern with 1 1 8 6) and sits in my Dungeon village. I bring up troops and attack Alamar sitting with 4 Angels in the village :), gg.
Thanks for the game!
P.S. Someone here complained about the imbalance of SM, but as practice shows, balance is even harsher.
On day 1 I buy Alamar, Dessa is in the tavern, then both get Earth magic, I thought luck was on my side... and that's where the luck ended. I scoured all nearby banks - minimums, not a single artifact, I scout a shield and a saber in the adjacent zone, but the red player appears there. No place to run - the generator for some reason drew only 1 road from the spawn point, there is a passage to the swamp, but I decided it wasn't worth it. No money and nowhere to get it. Pyre's magic stats are the same as my mage's, but her fighter stats are terrifying...
Out of despair I break the weekly growth - 1 mana short to resurrect the Naga, and I also forget to give the remaining troops to the daddy. Staying in the castle, I signed my own death sentence.
As the post-mortem showed - I built the Mage Guild in the wrong place and should have gone to the swamp after all.
Thanks for the game.
Regarding balance on balance - first time experiencing such a disaster, although if I hadn't given up I might have pulled it off, plus it's my own fault for not taking Resurrection because of fast roads.
