In my opinion, it's completely pointless to rush for fast-producing units. I initially gather Orcs (and later upgrade them to Ultimate Orcs) and clear the lands quite easily.
IMHO, it's debatable. Unless it's on very resource-scarce maps, when there's almost no money and you're playing against AI. If I understand correctly, by the end of the first week, you have 1-5 units in the Fortress? Then, in the second week, you have a total of 6 fast-producing units and a growth of 7 Orcs? That's not enough for taking on serious neutral creatures and Gnomish Encampments. + it requires 15 wood for the Town Hall (Market + Blacksmith + Guild), and more wood is needed for the Orcs. Where do you get 20 wood for Ogres then? O_o Besides, they only slow down the army, and without an upgrade, they rarely participate in battles. I recommend building a Citadel instead of Ogres in the first week.
