Also, Darkmoor, Edenbridge, Visions of Atlantis, Lunatica, After Forever... Well, yes, that's where everyone starts. Then I just went through the whole genre, not just sticking to the popular ones (pop metal? well, no thanks), but without a doubt, these bands deservedly became famous. But among the not-so-popular ones, you can sometimes find amazing songs; I don't know what's stopping them from becoming more popular, maybe their image isn't right, or the lyrics aren't great, but I like them! For example, Kerion (fantasy metal), Amberian Dawn (symphonic, mythology), Lyriel (dark romantic), Invasion (symphonic-folk, also fantasy themed), At the Lake (folk-rock <3), Frozen Cross (symphonic) - I really liked these, there are also some more or less mediocre bands - Sirens, Leaves' Eyes, Katra, Anshine - but they're just okay.
