On-line rating (discussion)

Personally, I'm mostly satisfied with everything.
The top players are at the top, the newbies are at the bottom – that's how it should be, I guess. My 160th place clearly shows me my place and how much I've degraded lately (it seems like not so long ago we were competing with Valkyrie somewhere around the same rank...), and how long a journey I have ahead of me to conquer the top (years and years...). In general, I don't really care.

What bothers me is this: if Ferz 17 (1-2 matches this season) asks me why he's 35 places lower than player [St] (0-3, no wins in any season) after defeating him, I don't know how to explain it to him. This is just one example. Just some thoughts out loud, nothing more.

Purely subjectively, it's frustrating that a loss immediately takes away three times more points than a win against a far from simple opponent.

Pasha is right. I even feel a bit uncomfortable playing against him – what if I win by some random chance...? Luckily, I'm still having some luck – I lose, but what if Kostyan and I suddenly start playing really well? I'm afraid that then no one will want to play against us. Dreams, dreams...
