Everything is correct.
I chose the restart option. 111 lost, failing to finish off 3 knights on the grass (there was nowhere else to go - I saw the entire respawn area from the vantage point), then I played with three heroes, and on level 115, I finally took the secondary-conflux location, where I found a crypt mini and almost defeated the pre-max hero. If I had placed Ifrits with a ransom, I could have put up a better fight, but as it was, there was no point in making the opponent suffer.
