Sacrificial Pit – how to use it correctly?

Actually, I made a slight mistake. Gathering troops + the bonus from sacrificing 1200 units results in +3 Assassins, +5 Furies, and +2 Minotaurs. Over six months, we get an additional 72 Assassins, 120 Furies, and 48 Minotaurs.
