1. Battle Mages can attack their own units if they are not adjacent.
2. My favorite hero is Razazak. Basic defense skills are very useful. And golems simply work wonders.
12 golems from the very beginning, along with the gremlins that resurrect them, allows you to level up quite easily and quickly.
