Arghat is good on a large map, Haggeh is good on a small map (or again, Arghat). If the map has islands (like Blood Lakes, for example, then Arghat is unbeatable). :-))

Can anyone give advice on which hero is best to play with on a huge map, on the highest difficulty, and with the second-to-last tier of troops? For example, my friend and I started playing on a random map; I have the hero Shaq'kurrat, and my opponent has Haggeh. Before the final battle: I have 22 Cyclops, 890 Goblins, 36 Wyverns, 500 Centaurs, 115 Shamans, 95 Executioners, and 300 Orcish Warriors. My opponent has 22 Cyclops, 400 Orcish Warriors, 600 Centaurs, 80 Executioners, 500 Goblins, and 37 Wyverns. My opponent's hero is level 31, with Expert Luck, Expert Attack and Defense, Expert Education, and Expert Logistics skills at 24-27-11-18, and 0-5 in Attack-Defense-Magic-Knowledge, with War Cry and Luck. My hero is level 30, with 31-34-17-24 and 4-4 in Attack-Defense-Magic-Knowledge, with War Cry and Luck. My skills are Expert Education, Defense, Attack, Luck, and Leadership. Despite this, I was defeated, losing only my Wyverns. I was defeated by Centaurs. That is, my opponent's Centaurs went first: on the first turn, they killed my Centaurs with a single attack, and they also gained morale, so they went again and wiped out all my Orcish Warriors. I managed to scare them twice with War Cry, but my opponent restored the Centaurs' initiative with a combined battle cry and a boost from their Executioners. And then the scenario was that they wiped out all my remaining troops again. My opponent had an artifact that increased initiative by 20%, but I had a combined dragon artifact that also increased initiative quite well. But it turned out that the Centaurs went very often. I suspect that it might be possible to counter this with K'higan, by accumulating a huge number of Goblins and having a large attack and defense, but you still have to get your units to them, and they retreat after each attack without retaliating
