For me, this was quite an achievement! I played the first part of the game without an editor, relying on my memory. In the first game, I explored, scouted the artifacts, and took a secondary Castle - a Tower with an attack/defense artifact, like almost all the others. I decided to focus on Gunnar. With some difficulty, I placed unicorns in the fort, which ultimately helped a lot. In the second game, I placed thousands of units and transported an artifact for 5,000 gold. I took some gnomish units, built a Castle. In the third game, I already had 12 snipers =), and 30 elves - I upgraded them (had a lot of trouble with wood). Then, my opponent broke through the guard - Nag and Astral with 11 and 12 in magical parameters, which was very intimidating, so I quickly took my artifact and, in the last turn, retreated to my Castle.
Siege:
Gunnar, level 10 (10 13 3 5 (50))
Expertise: Tactics, Logistics, Scouting: (Scholar sold it), Advance Earth and Basic Wisdom.
33 Grand Griffins, 8 Unique units, 20 Silver Pegasi, 58 Centaurs, 14 Dryads, 17 Lizards, 12 Snipers
Against:
Astral, level 11 (3 7 11 12 (240))
Expertise: Wisdom, Intelligence, Fire, and Tactics.
28 Orcs, 44 Goblins, 7 Pit Fiends, 9 Rukh, 4 Ifrit, 5 Wolves, and 10 Demons.
In the first turn, I made a mistake - either my hand trembled, or the mouse slipped - I'm not sure, but I clicked something unclear with the Silver Pegasi, although it was obvious that I should attack the Ifrits to get out of the Castle. But in the end, I was trapped by three Ifrits and took almost full Inferno damage, about 190 damage. Then, after a couple of rounds, a ballista made a hole in the wall, and the Unique units and Centaurs broke through. My opponent bought himself out with the remaining units.
I had 16 Grand Griffins, 2 Unique units, 30 Centaurs, and 13 Dryads left. I went to study the researched magic resistance from the witch, leveled up a bit, and Astral attacked again: 1 Pit Fiend, 25 Wolves, about 30 Goblins, 18 Hobgoblins, and some single units. This time, he took a beating and bought himself out again (I wasn't expecting an attack at all because I was on cursed land - I didn't understand this moment).
On the 4th turn, I bought growth, made an advance in resistance, and went to the forest to make an expert. Only at the end did I realize how I should have played. I should have made Golems in the Tower, Gnomes in my main Castle, and surrounded by Unique units, go on the offensive against my opponent. Defense of 17 and magic resistance could have allowed me to hope for something. But against 240 mana and a spell of 12.... it's hard to say what would have happened. I was offered a draw - of course, I agreed, I hope this won't prevent Pit from winning.
Thank you very much for your time, patience, communication, and experience!
