I think it’s still better to play on medium, because most of my games played on the fastest roads ended at the start of the second week with a victory for whoever got more Dragon Fly Hives/cans. Slow roads won’t end well either, especially in SOD — the game will drag on for 5-6 weeks, which for me, for example, is a very unpleasant fact. Well, and Ba’a’s experience, after all (for them this is the main game template), suggests playing on medium, although how to implement this in SOD, I have no idea.
