Here's another thing I've figured out from our facts and clues, gentlemen:
an earring, a red stone, and ears – all of this is "from the same source," meaning they didn't belong to the killers but were attributes of other NPCs who were passing by the victim's door! This kind of "clicked" for me after weighing all the facts! And therefore: the rope may not be related to the stone at all (the red stone, in my opinion, is from the lore of our employee about anime alchemists, as Plesen once wrote, who seems to be an expert on this topic); it blocked Tengro on the second night. If all my logical assumptions were correct...
