Here's another thing I've figured out from our facts and clues: the earring, the red stone, and the ears – all of this is "from the same source," meaning they didn't belong to the killers but were attributes of other NPCs who were passing by the victim's door! This kind of "clicked" for me after weighing all the facts. And therefore: the rope may not be related to the stone at all (the red stone, in my opinion, is from the jewelry of our employee who likes anime alchemists, as Plesen once wrote, who seems to be an expert on this topic).
