It seems so. We need to check:
a) battles with neutral creatures;
b) battles with heroes in an open field;
c) castle siege.

I suggest testing on the same battle; is that an option?

I don't think it's that important. On the contrary, by testing different battles, we are more likely to get a reliable result.
