Yes, I'm making two maniacs, but the difference between them is that the demonologist has a mind, roughly speaking, i.e., he may not kill anyone at night, he may succumb to the charms of the servant, and he "reveals" the captain's protection, and therefore does not die from it.
The werewolf, on the other hand, is simply a purely bloodthirsty role: cannot be blocked, cannot be recruited, only - kill or hang during the day.
