It’s interesting who came up with this idea. And what’s the mechanism behind it? If the goal isn’t just to give newcomers an advantage, then this is a dead end. What’s the maximum that can be achieved? Reviewing saves after each turn? But why do that when it’s enough to simply analyze the saves after a game, with the same effect? Moreover, a game with an open map is played with a completely different strategy than a regular game. Loy clearly had a good idea when everyone played from the same save, and then analyzed it. This is a valuable thing, not just for beginners.
