I was just playing on the same map as Dungeon (the map is called Legacy). The initial placement of the castles isn't entirely balanced. Those on the surface develop faster. When I started on the surface, I easily defeated everyone. Then I chose a different color (orange) and started underground. By the time I had captured all the castles below, humans showed up, with an army roughly the same size as the one I described. They had about twice as many troops as me. At that point, the Meteor Shower (enhanced) dealt 670 damage, and Earth Shock dealt 1020 damage, but it didn't help. The situation was even worse against the Elves, but I still won.
