Of course. But no matter how smart and good a person is, if they are unhealthy and have a lot of chronic diseases, they will (with a high probability) leave behind equally unhealthy offspring and contribute to the destruction of human civilization. Of course, it is not humane to not treat or even exterminate unhealthy, "weak" people, so they are treated, and humanity accumulates many different diseases and simply becomes less resilient. This is sad, although this process will not reach a critical point anytime soon (if it ever does, who knows what awaits us in the future), so at least we can be calm.
