Hmm, there are chess games on Skype too. No, I don't know much about tactics in chess; I plan no more than 2-3 moves ahead, and my intuition guides me.
I'm pretty much the same. Although, at one time, I was interested in chess: I had a book with various puzzles. A certain board position is given, and you need to checkmate in so many moves. It also described frequently occurring situations and the most effective actions in these situations, and included games (or parts of games) of famous grandmasters.
